March Madness is known for buzzer beaters and brackets.

But this year at Living Well Pilates, the competition looks a little different.

Starting March 18, we are launching the March Matness Move Bracket. Instead of basketball teams battling it out, classic Pilates mat exercises will go head-to-head in a community vote.

Here is how it works.

Two Pilates moves will face off in Instagram Stories. Followers vote for their favorite. The winning move advances to the next round. The losing move is eliminated.

Round by round, the competition continues until one exercise is crowned the reigning Mat Move Champion of 2026.

The best part? Every move in the bracket is one you will actually experience in our Monday 7 PM March Matness classes. That means you can feel the challenge of each movement in class before casting your vote.

Think of it as Pilates meets bracket season.

The March Matness Mat Pilates Candidates

These are some of the mat exercises entering the bracket. Each one has earned its reputation in the Pilates world.

The Hundred

The classic endurance warm-up that wakes up your entire powerhouse. Breath, core activation, and rhythm all come together in this iconic opening move.

Roll-Up

A slow and controlled spinal articulation exercise that tests every inch of your abdominal strength. Simple in theory, surprisingly difficult in practice.

Teaser

Often considered the moment where Pilates students know they have arrived. Balance, strength, and control unite in this challenging V-position movement.

Single Leg Stretch

A fast-paced core exercise that blends coordination and abdominal control. It looks simple but demands precise timing and stability.

Double Leg Stretch

The full-body reach and pull that never gets easier. Arms and legs extend away from the core before pulling back in with control.

Criss-Cross

Oblique strength disguised as a twisting abdominal exercise. This move lights up the sides of the core while challenging coordination.

Swan

A back extension movement many people underestimate until they feel the benefits in their spine. Swan strengthens the back while encouraging healthy spinal mobility.
